Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, who recently announced a state recount, announced Nov. 11 that the region would audit the 2020 presidential race by manually counting millions of ballots.
This was reported by CNN.
“Since the difference is very small, a full manual count will be required in each county. This will help build confidence,” Raffensperger said at a news conference in Atlanta.
He added that it will be an audit, a recalculation and a reexamination at the same time.
More than 4.9 million ballots were completed during Georgia’s presidential race. According to the secretary of state, he expects the recount to take place before the state certification of the results, which will take place on November 20.
Joe Biden is currently ahead of President Donald Trump in Georgia by more than 14,000 votes.
As “Strana” wrote, despite the absence of official election results, Biden has already announced his victory.
