Odessa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov on Wednesday 9 December received positive test for COVID-19.
The head of the city, which collapsed due to the pandemic, announced it on his Facebook page. The politician noted that he went into self-isolation, but will continue to work remotely.
He said so far it feels good. The 55-year-old man did not mention his symptoms.
“I will not hide: it is very difficult for me to break with the usual rhythm of life”, – wrote Trukhanov.
The mayor asked city residents to adhere to the quarantine: wear masks, limit contacts as much as possible and maintain social distance.
Remember that Gennady Trukhanov became the head of the city for the third time. He won the local elections, winning the second round with 54.28% of the votes. In the first round of elections for the mayor of Odessa, Trukhanov won only 37.54%.
