The launch of high-budget game projects is traditionally accompanied by the launch of new sets of graphics drivers. AMD has already released the Radeon Adrenalin 20.12.1 package with optimizations for free access to Cyberpunk 2077. Now it is Nvidia’s turn. The “green” chipmaker offers to download the Game Ready GeForce 460.79 WHQL driver, designed to provide the “best gaming experience” in the new action RPG.
Additionally, the GeForce 460.79 WHQL release contains optimizations for Minecraft RTX, which was officially released the day before, along with patches for such issues:
- Black stripes instead of curbs in Forza Motorsport 7 on some tracks;
- when the refresh rate is set above 100Hz, the color format changes from RGB to YCbCr422;
- system hangs when starting a game on SLI GeForce RTX 3090 configurations with three monitors and active G-Sync;
- the NvAPI_GPU_GetGPUInfo () function returns the wrong number of GPU tensor cores;
- MPC-HC “crashes” when playing video with a width of 1088 pixels;
- Problems adjusting color through Nvidia Control Panel on 5K monitors.
You can download the GeForce 460.79 WHQL driver by searching the Nvidia official website or using the GeForce Experience app. The accompanying documentation for the new version is available here.
