From third place to the end. Dawn

A great defeat for “Alexandria” was a serious lesson for Ostap Markevich. Compared to that game, he changed nearly half of the players in the starting lineup, releasing Kiryukhantsev, Chobotenko, Cech, Mishnev and Gorbunov today. It would be a mistake to say that the result was obtained only by Priazovtsy’s rotation – his opponent looked quite pale today and had little to offer in return.

From the first minutes, “Zarya” could not turn on the maximum speed. The guests were even happy with such a course of events and were able to create a comfortable lead on the scoreboard just for the opening quarter of the game. Gorbunov and Kulakov had big chances (he saved Shevchenko twice), Sagutkin sent the shell to the shelf and Favorov was about to score his own goal, but the Lugansk goalkeeper also saved.

The hosts answered this closer to the end of the second ten minutes: Kochergin intercepted in the middle of another person, he rolled into the right inside area on Gromov, who did not beat Galchuk.

Little by little, Zorya took control of the ball. But there was no sensation of an imminent goal. Only isolated attempts to sharpen it. For example, Kochergin and Grechkin fired hard into the penalty area, but no one opened for their passes. One of the best chances was a perfect serve for Gromov, who hit the wrong target with his head.

“Mariupol” was good at keeping the ball. After the break, “Zorya” went into high pressure, trying to cover the opponent even in his penalty area. But the Azovtsy coped with this, not without confusion. Only once did the guests make a mistake when Yurchenko went into shock position in front of goal, throwing both Galchuk and goal.

Furthermore, the Azovites responded with their good attacks. For example, Kulakov was given the opportunity to shoot from 11 meters without resistance and from a turn: Shevchenko miraculously retreated.

Soon, the rivals created one more opportunity (Tsvek tapped higher from seven meters and Shevchenko again faced Topalov’s effective blow from the grip), and then Azov’s team opened the scoring: one interception in the other half – Kulakov’s throw to the far post – Topalov scores …

According to the list of dangerous moments mentioned here, it is already obvious that “Mariupol” has won more goals. The last half hour became an expectation of how Zarya might respond. It turned out – nothing.

“Dawn” lacked speed and some kind of inner drive. Of everything that happened after the goal, only one episode can be scored: Kochergin on the right gave a great flush to the penalty area, and Nazarina fired into the stands for some reason.

A kind of apathy was read on Viktor Skripnik’s face. It is difficult to explain, given that just over a month later the team will play in the Europa League group, where “Mariupol”, for example, did not arrive. It seems that we don’t know something about the inner club life of “Zarya”, which causes so much concern for the mentor.

Priazovtsy looked like a completely different team in the context of “Mariupol”, who lost to “Alexandria” three weeks ago. Let’s not jump to conclusions, but in any case: it should be interesting to look at such a team during the current season.
