In Ukraine, starting today, April 22, 15 o’clock electronic passports are available to everyone in the “Action” app.
The Minister for Digital Transformation, Mikhail Fedorov, wrote about it on his Facebook page.
On April 15, the government approved a decree on electronic passports in the Action request. Later, the minister wrote that the passports in the “Action” application were officially converted into digital analogues of paper documents.
“Your passport on your smartphone will not carry your ID card and extracts from it.
If you don’t have an ID card, we digitize a foreign biometric passport, which also identifies you. It provides the same rights and opportunities as the role that operates in the country. The number of Ukrainians with foreign biometric passports far exceeds the number of ID card holders. This means that more citizens will be able to use the electronic passport for their identity, ”reported Fedorov.
The Minister noted that after quarantine, electronic passports could be used:
when traveling by rail or air;
during medical care and banking operations;
when receiving administrative services.
Fedorov added that Ukraine is the first country in the world where it is possible to use a digital passport and at the same time not show a paper or plastic counterpart.
“More than 2.1 million Ukrainians are currently users of the Action app. Next week, a presentation and release of the passport is planned. After testing, we expect an app conversion of more than 90%. Registration is new” Fedorov wrote.
He also added that at 3 p.m., an online presentation was launched to show new features on the Action mobile app:
electronic passports on request;
push message function;
a single portal for electronic services;
online opening / data change / FOP closure;
Citizen’s Office: An opportunity for everyone to see what the state knows about you (car / fact sheet / land / real estate);
electronic student;
The opportunity to obtain unemployment / assistance status through the Action portal
Online document signing service using electronic signature.
At the beginning of the test, Ukproshta started issuing an electronic driver’s license in the Action app in test mode.
Also, the Action app has a test platform for business.
