The president of the United States, Donald Trump, held the first rally after losing the election. At the rally, he was supposed to campaign for Republican Senate candidates, but the president decided to focus on himself.
Reported by Reuters.
The action, which took place in the state of Georgia, became part of the campaign before the January Senate elections.
“They tricked us and falsified our presidential election, but we will still win it,” Trump said.
“And they are also going to try to manipulate this election,” he addressed the crowd, who chanted «Four more years! “
Before the rally, he harshly criticized Georgia’s Republican Governor Brian Kemp on Twitter for not announcing a recount. Kemp recalled in response that he had publicly requested a recalculation of the results. (has no authority to announce the count).
Trump’s allegations of widespread election fraud have been dismissed by state and federal authorities across the country, and almost all of his campaign’s numerous legal claims have failed.
Recall that Joe Biden became the first Democratic presidential candidate to win in Georgia since 1992. Recounts from across the state, including careful manual scrutiny of some 5 million ballots, revealed no major irregularities.
The January elections will be a showdown between two Republican senators, David Purdue and Kelly Leffler, with Democratic rivals John Ossoff and Raphael Warnock. The election will determine which party will control the United States Senate.
Democrats, who already have a majority in the House of Representatives, will have to win both seats in Georgia to gain control of the upper house. If Republicans win a seat, they will retain their majority and will be able to block most of Biden’s legislative agenda.
