Former NAC official suspected of embezzlement of 1.7 million

The former director of the company, which is part of the Naftogaz group, unreasonably wrote bonuses totaling 1.7 million UAH, of which more than 960 thousand UAH for him.

Law enforcement officials suspect that the former head of the company, whose founder is NAK Naftogaz, embezzled 1.7 million hryvnias. The former official has already been informed of the suspicion. This was announced on Saturday, August 29, according to the press service of the Interior Ministry.

It is noted that during the investigation, law enforcement officials established that the director of the company, which is part of the NJSC Naftogaz group of Ukraine, had developed a plan to take over the company’s funds.

“During 2018-2019, in violation of the requirements of the current legislation, on the basis of the orders issued by him, production bonuses totaling 1.7 million UAH were unjustifiably paid, of which more than 960 one thousand UAH was paid directly to the director of the company.

The police have gathered sufficient evidence of the official’s participation in the embezzlement and seizure of company funds, “the message added.

Thus, on August 28, investigators from the Main Investigation Department of the National Police informed the former director of the structural unit of the National Society for Actions about the suspicion under the article on misappropriation, misappropriation of assets or seizing them through abuse of power (part 5 of Article 191) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Investigative and procedural actions are ongoing.

Earlier it was reported that the Cabinet has determined the payments to the members of the Naftogaz Supervisory Board. The average monthly salary of the economy for the last quarter of the previous year will be taken as the basis for calculating salaries. This indicator will be multiplied by 22.

Recall that the cumulative salary of five of the seven members of the supervisory board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine in April amounted to 2.86 million UAH for each.
