Russian actor Mikhail Efremov, who was sentenced to 8 years in a general regime colony due to a fatal traffic accident, would have received a suspended sentence had he not been famous.
This opinion was expressed by former attorney for the artist Elman Pashayev on the air of NTV. According to him, during ten years of working with him, not a single client “did not sit down because of an accident”, even when he was drunk.
That is why friends advised Efremov to turn to Pashaev. The lawyer claims that the actor’s fame and the resulting public outcry surrounding the case played against the actor.
“If Efremov were an ordinary citizen, he would receive a suspended sentence and go home.”– Said the former lawyer.
Remember:
-
Elman Pashayev was deprived of lawyer status due to his “inadmissible statements and behavior” during the examination of Efremov’s case.
-
Previously, Pashayev took disciplinary responsibility for violating the ethics of defenders, as he used the criminal case against Efremov to promote himself.
As OBOZREVATEL reported, Roman Filippov became the new lawyer for Russian actor Mikhail Efremov, who was sentenced to 8 years in prison. He specializes in civil and criminal law.
