Former Dynamo player Petr Slobodyan, UEFA Super Cup winner, dies

Former Kiev player “Dynamo” and “Dnipro” Petr Slobodyan died at the age of 68. This was reported by the club’s press service.

He made great achievements in his career with the Dynamo. Slobodyan played for the Kiev club from 1975 to 1979. He won the 1975 UEFA Super Cup, USSR champion from 1975 to 1977.

The forward also played for Dnipro, Avangard (Ternopil) and Lokomotiv Moscow. He also played two games for the USSR national team.

He finished his career at the age of 27. On the training bridge he worked twice in Obolon Kiev from 2001 to 2004 and from 2006 to 2008.

“He left us an extraordinary person, who left a brilliant mark on the history of Dynamo Kiev. Petr Slobodyan is an example of a true Dynamo player, a fighter on the soccer field who never stopped trying to overcome the difficulties he faced during his career, including numerous injuries.

The heart of a kind, decent and sincere person stopped beating. All who had the honor of meeting Pyotr Petrovich will always remember him as a person who knew how to overcome difficulties and always remained a professional in his field.
