Viktor Shapovalov was under investigation in the Maidan case.

The law enforcement agency will appeal against the decision of the Kharkiv Regional Administrative Court.

The Interior Ministry and the National Police will block the reinstatement of Viktor Shapovalov, former commander of the Berkut special forces company. This was stated by the Director of the Department of Communications of the Ministry of the Interior of Ukraine, Artem Shevchenko in Twitter Friday December 4th.

According to him, the departments will appeal against the decision of the Kharkiv Regional Administrative Court.

“He (Shapovalov – ed.) Will not serve in the ranks of the police, that is the place there,” wrote the representative of the Interior Ministry.

Earlier on Friday, it emerged that the Kharkiv Regional Administrative Court canceled Shapovalov’s removal from the Interior Ministry. He was being investigated in the Maidan case but was released from the remand center under the so-called “Savchenko law”.

It was indicated that the decision could be appealed, but the Interior Ministry was obliged to reinstate Shapovalov in office and pay him compensation immediately.

Let us remind you that the court allowed a special investigation into Berkutov, a suspect in 48 premeditated murders of Maidanites and attempted murder of 80 more people on February 20, 2014.
