Forest fires continue to be extinguished in eastern Ukraine

In the Dvurechansky district of the Kharkov region, the fire covered 500 hectares. In the Lugansk region, rescuers have prevented the threat of fire from spreading to settlements.

Rescue teams continue to extinguish individual foci of a large-scale fire in the Kharkiv region. This was reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service on Sunday, September 6.

“September 4 at 1:17 pm a fire in a forest near the town. Vorobyovka of the Dvurechansky district, which emerged on September 2, is located. The total area covered by the fire is 500 hectares (of which 100 hectares of canopy fire). As of September 6, no open fire is observed, separate centers of smoking forest garbage and wood waste are being extinguished within the controlled perimeter, ”it was reported.

At the same time, in the Lugansk region, rescuers removed the threat of fires to settlements; earlier there was a fire in the dry grass near the village of Bolotennoye, Stanichno-Luhansk region.

“As of September 6, there is no threat to the settlements. The engineering team created 12 mineralized strips to protect hydraulic fracturing near the village. Lobachevo. The extinction is carried out around the perimeter of the fire in accessible places ”, he added to the State Emergency Service.

The fires of two centers of dry grass and forest plantations in the Novoaydarsky district, which occurred on September 2, are located. No open fire is observed, individual pockets of rotting dry grass are being extinguished, rescuers summarized.

We will remember that earlier two soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine disappeared while extinguishing a forest fire in the Donbass. Now the Ukrainian army is conducting a search operation.

It was also reported that the Kharkiv and Lugansk regional state administrations were instructed to take fire prevention measures. Regional administrations must develop additional measures to prevent fires, as well as present a plan to eliminate the consequences of fires.
