A Wuhan resident who has been diagnosed with a coronavirus is in serious condition, authorities in Hubei said. Previously in this region, the recovery of all patients with COVID-19 was announced.
In Wuhan, China, considered the site of the start of an outbreak of coronavirus infection, a new case of COVID-19 has been identified. This was announced on May 10 by the Hubei Provincial Health Commission.
The patient is a local resident, is hospitalized in serious condition with pneumonia. The method of infection is not indicated.
Another 17 cases in the province are considered asymptomatic, the commission said.
Since March 18, there have been no new episodes of coronavirus infection in Wuhan. On April 26, the last survivors were discharged from city hospitals.
During the epidemic, 50,334 cases of COVID-19 were officially confirmed in the city, 3,869 people died (in China alone – 83,990 and 4,637, respectively).
