For the first time in Ukraine, a kidney transplant was performed on a three-year-old girl from a deceased donor. The operation was performed by doctors from the AA Shalimov Institute of Surgery and Transplantology. The boy’s mother still can’t believe how lucky her daughter is, founder of the Ukrainian donation platform IDonor Iryna Zaslavets said on her Facebook page.

The donor was a 38-year-old man who died after a traumatic brain injury. His relatives agreed that he would become a donor for four people.
