Fruits and vegetables fell the most in September
Food products fell in price by 1.5% in August. Above all vegetables, 13.5% and fruits, 8.4%.
Consumer prices in Ukraine in September 2020 increased by 0.5% compared to August. Since the beginning of the year, inflation has been 1.7%. This is demonstrated by data from the State Statistics Service, published on Friday, October 9.
It is indicated that in annual terms (as of September 2019), inflation slowed to 2.3% from 2.5% in August 2020.
Food products in Ukraine in September fell 0.7%. Fruits were the ones that fell the most, 8.9% and vegetables, 7.0%. At the same time, the price of eggs rose 7.3%.
The prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased 0.6%, those of clothing and footwear increased 7.9%. Housing, water, electricity, gas and other types of fuels increased 3.6% (including gas prices they increased 18.4%).
Household items and appliances increased in price by 0.2%, medical care: increased by 0.4%, transportation increased by 0.5% (including fuel prices increased by 0.6%) , communications did not change, recreation and culture decreased 0.6%, education increased 11.0%, restaurants and hotels decreased 0.7%.
It was previously reported that the Cabinet expects an increase in inflation in early 2021. At the same time, inflation in Ukraine is now half the target level.
It also emerged that in the second quarter of 2020 the real disposable income of Ukrainians decreased by 7.3%, for the first time since 2016.
