Who is Vitold Fokin?
Vitold Fokin was born in 1932 in the Dnepropetrovsk region. During the communist regime, he was a member of the Communist Party (KPU) commission in 1976-1981, a member of the KPU Central Committee in 1981-1991, a deputy of the eleventh convocation of the Verkhovna Rada of the USSR in 1988-1989.
From 1990 to 1992, under the presidency of Leonid Kravchuk, he was Prime Minister of Ukraine. One of the first to receive the mandate of the People’s Deputy of the Rada of the already independent Ukraine.
Fokin was one of the signatories of the agreement between the governments of Belarus, Ukraine and Russia.
In 1993, Fokin was president of the International Fund for Humanitarian and Economic Relations of Ukraine with Russia.

- On August 4, the first President of Ukraine, head of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG, Leonid Kravchuk, announced that Vitold Fokin was offered the position of “communications coordinator of all parties” at the TCG.
- On August 5, the Office of the President reported that Fokin plans to determine his possible participation in the work of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG by the end of this week.
- On August 18, 2020, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, introduced the Prime Minister of Ukraine in 1990-1992, Vitold Fokin, to the Ukrainian delegation to participate in the Trilateral Contact Group for the peaceful settlement of the situation in Donbass (TCG).
