The former prime minister commented to Gordon’s edition of the words of Maria Fokina’s granddaughter that it was through her that he met Yermak:

«It was so long ago that I don’t remember this acquaintance. It was a few years ago. He often comes to see me with his friends. They are generally nice and interesting people. I don’t remember exactly when he came with this gentleman. Maybe it was a year ago, maybe more. I have not memorized it. It has been a long time (before the invitation to the TCG, – HB) “.

According to Fokin, before he was invited to the president’s office to speak about the appointment, he saw Yermak only once.

«I don’t feel like talking about my granddaughter with anyone. She is an adult. Fully independent. She has her own opinion, she has the right to express it whenever and wherever, ”he added.

Vitold Fokin, 87, joined the TCG’s Ukrainian delegation in Donbas on August 18. The corresponding decree was signed by President Vladimir Zelensky.

At the end of August, Fokin made a resounding statement that in order to achieve peace in the Donbass, a general amnesty should be concluded and a special status should be assigned to this region.

The people’s deputy of the Servant of the People, Alexander Kachura, reported that on September 15, Fokin would attend a meeting of the committee on the organization of state power and local self-government of the parliament to explain his resounding statements.

However, on September 12, Kachura said that Fokine had refused to attend the committee meeting.

On September 13, Fokin’s granddaughter Maria announced that he was promoted to the position of first deputy head of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG after she introduced him to the head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak.

He also argued that Fokin didn’t care what they wrote about his resounding statements about Donbass.
