Flights to the Moon: Chinese probe delivered lunar soil samples to Earth

Chinese lunar mission successfully completed: Chang’e-5 probe delivered lunar soil samples to Earth. Is informed by CGTN with reference to State Space Administration of China.

“China has done what no other country has done in more than 40 years. The Chang’e-5 mission to return lunar samples was successful,” the statement said.

A lunar soil sample capsule landed in the Inner Mongolia region of China.

Thus, China became the third country to receive soil samples from the Moon, after the United States and the Soviet Union.

Recall that on November 24 China launched a robotic spacecraft to deliver soil samples from the Moon to Earth. It is known that the probe was supposed to stay on the lunar surface for about two days, and the entire mission lasted about 23 days.

The unmanned mission Chang’e-5 (Chang’e-5), named after the mythical Chinese goddess of the moon, was aims to collect lunar material to help scientists learn more about the origins of this natural satellite of Earth.
