Frosts may hit Ukraine after Indian summer

According to the forecast of the Ukrhydrometeorological Center, in the second half of next week, closer to the weekend, the temperature will begin to drop and it is possible that it will rain. At the end of October, snow is not new for Ukraine.

Natalya Golenya, deputy director of the meteorological forecast department at the Ukrhydrometeorological center, said this in a comment to RBC-Ukraine.

“A significant cold wave is possible. There will be no frost, it will be frost,” he said, adding that after October 20, snow in Ukraine is quite common, especially in the northeast and the Carpathians.

Let us remind you that, according to the forecast of the Ukrhydrometeorological Center, the “Indian summer” will last one more week in Ukraine, up to Pokrov. Now the temperature in Ukraine exceeds the climatic norm by 3-11 degrees. The warm weather will last at least until the middle of next week, until October 14.

Note that according to the forecast of the Ukrhydrometeorological Center, in October 2020, the average monthly temperature is expected to be in the range of 6-12 degrees, which is within the range of long-term average values. According to the forecasters, monthly precipitation is expected to be 30-65mm, which is within long-term average values.
