“The situation in the region is tense. Three people died, one of them was a park ranger, three more victims were hospitalized with carbon monoxide poisoning. Several dozen houses and public buildings were damaged by fire. The fire surrounded Severodonetsk.” says the statement.
According to Venediktova, on the events of large-scale fires in the Lugansk region, criminal proceedings were initiated under parts 1, 2 of art. 270 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of fire safety requirements established by law). Urgent investigative actions continue.

More than 9,300 hectares in the Lugansk region are on fire. 146 forest, grass and shrub fires were recorded in Starobelskiy, Stanichno-Luganskiy and Novoaydarskiy districts. 82 fires were extinguished. Due to gusts of wind, the flame spreads rapidly.
Fire fighting and population evacuation continues. A total of 95 people were evacuated. The head of the Lugansk Regional State Administration, Serhiy Gaidai, said that the evacuees were placed in school gymnasiums, provided with food.
