It is observed that strong winds, whose speed reaches 20 m / s, interfere with firefighters. In addition, the storms damaged power lines in five settlements, leaving more than 1,000 subscribers without power.
Also, due to the fire, traffic on the Novoaydar-Severodonetsk highway in the town of Muratovo is limited.
An operational headquarters has been established in the region to provide assistance to fire victims.
We will recall that large-scale fires also broke out in the Lugansk region in July. The fire took place in several settlements in the Novoaydar region at the same time. Due to the strong wind and heat, the area of the fire began to increase sharply.
As RBC-Ukraine wrote, 223 people were injured as a result of the fires, 6 citizens were killed and dozens of houses were completely destroyed.
Earlier, the Lugansk Regional State Administration named the amount of damage caused by forest fires, but it was more than half.
