11 cases have already been opened due to fires in the Lugansk region

Due to the large-scale fires in the Lugansk region, law enforcement officials have opened 11 criminal proceedings. The forests have been burning for the sixth day.

This was reported by the press secretary of the police in the Lugansk region, Tatiana Pogukay, on Facebook.

According to preliminary estimates from the State Emergency Service, the approximate area of ​​fires is about 22,121 thousand hectares.

“11 criminal proceedings have been opened under Article 270 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Novoaydarsky, Popasnyansky, Severodonetsky, Lisichansky, Starobelsky, Stanichno-Lugansky, Belokurakinsky, Svatovsky and Milovsky, Troitsky OP GUNP),” he said.

Recall that a video was added to the criminal cases about the events of the fires, showing how Russian mercenaries from the occupied areas of the Lugansk region tried to set the dried grass on fire.

Be aware that an extreme level of fire danger will be observed in southern and eastern Ukraine.

Earlier, the OSCE stated that there was no significant damage to civil and commercial buildings as a result of forest fires in Stanytsia Luhanska.
