The Commission for Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies in the Kharkiv Region due to forest fires has introduced a regional emergency.
Due to the fires in the Dvurechansky district, the Kharkiv region’s technogenic and environmental safety and emergency commission declared an emergency situation at the regional level, the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration Alexey Kucher wrote on Facebook.
“This will facilitate the receipt of payments from the state to compensate people who have lost their homes as a result of the fire,” he wrote.
In the Kharkov region, on September 2, a fire broke out on the territory of the Novomoskovsk forestry company at noon, about 10 hectares of forest caught fire. A forest burned near the village of Klugino-Bashkirovka, and smoke was visible in Chuguev.
The State Emergency Service in the region reported a second fire, which broke out on the territory of Dvurechansky forestry and covered an area of 400 hectares. Due to gusts of wind, the flame began to spread to the treetops and the residential sector of the village of Gorobievka. In the village of Gryanikovka, the evacuation of residents was organized.
