Fines for some traffic offenses have increased between 40 and 80 times

The penalties will apply not only to drivers, but also to pedestrians and cyclists.

New fines for infringement of traffic regulations come into force in Ukraine. This was announced on Monday, March 15, by the deputy head of the patrol police department, Oleksiy Biloshitskiy, during a briefing, according to the Ukrainian Interior Ministry on its Facebook page.

He highlighted that the fines for some infractions have increased between 40 and 80 times.

So, for drivers who have lost their license, but continue to drive without it, the fines increase 40 times, from 510 to 20,400 hryvnia. At the same time, for a repeated infringement, you will have to pay 40,800 hryvnia + deprivation of rights for 5-7 years and the payment of the seized car. Before that, they were fined 510 hryvnia.

For speeding of 20 km / h, the fine will increase from 255 to 340 hryvnia. For speeding of 50 km / h, the fine will increase from 51 to 510 hryvnia.

For leaving the scene of an accident, the fine is increased from 255 to 3,400 hryvnia or deprivation of rights for 1-2 years, or administrative arrest for 10-15 days

For dirty, stamped or improperly installed license plates, the fine increases from 170 to 850 hryvnia. At the same time, for a repeated violation during the year, it will be necessary to pay 1,700 UAH, and earlier the amount of the fine was 255 UAH.

Fines for traffic violations by cyclists and pedestrians will also increase.

So, for going to an unidentified place or for a traffic sign that prohibits a traffic controller, the fine will increase from 51 to 255 hryvnia.

For violation of the rules by a cyclist, the fine is increased from 85 to 340 hryvnia.

For traffic offenses committed by a drunk pedestrian or bicyclist, the fine will increase from 136 to 680 hryvnia.

For repeated violation of the rules by a pedestrian or bicyclist, the fine is increased from 170 to 850 hryvnia or community service from 20 to 40 hours.

Recall that in 2020 in Ukraine, more than 3.5 thousand people died in an accident.
