Strana’s correspondent managed to find out the name and some other details of the man who killed the pedestrians in the capital’s Independence Square from a source in law enforcement.
As it turned out, the driver’s name is Yuri Nazarenko. He was born in 1954.
For almost five years he worked at the Securities and Exchange Commission, he was involved in the creation of IT infrastructure in the department. He was also chairman of the board of the Agency for the Development of the Infrastructure of the Stock Market of Ukraine (ARIFRU). In addition, he coordinated the work of the companies in the structure of the Commission and issues of its budget.
From the open data it is clear that in 2014 he fell under lustration and left the commission.
Deputy Interior Minister Anton Gerashchenko told Strana what would happen to Nazarenko.
“During the arrest, the driver said he lost consciousness while driving. Yeah, and now they’re doing a urinalysis for hidden drugs. therefore, it is not judged, “said Gerashchenko.
