Ukrainian was beaten by SEF employees
The Ukrainian was beaten to death by immigration agents for allegedly trying to reach Portugal without a visa.
The Portuguese authorities will pay compensation to the family of the Ukrainian citizen Ihor Gomenyuk, who was killed at the airport in the capital. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry asked the Portuguese authorities for an objective and impartial investigation of the high-profile case. reported Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba on his Twitter page on Thursday, December 10.

Let us remember that the 40-year-old Ukrainian died in March 2020 in the Lisbon airport detention center after being beaten with truncheons by agents of the Service for Foreigners and Borders (SEF).
Gomenyuk reportedly tried to get to Portugal without a valid visa, for which he was placed in an isolation room.
According to media reports, the Ukrainian had an epileptic seizure, was hospitalized, but then returned to the airport isolation room, where he was beaten again in a room without CCTV cameras, after which he died.
