An improvised explosive device was found in the city of Rivne near the apartment where the mother of the head of the Center for Public Organization to Combat Corruption, Vitaly Shabunin, lives. “Today around 9:20 p.m. in the city of Rivne, law enforcement officers received a message that an improvised explosive device was found on the first floor of a five-story residential building under an apartment door. It is observed that employees of the explosives service, an investigative-operative group and operatives arrived at the place. They carry out priority investigative and operational search actions to establish the reasons for such an event and the person or persons involved in this event.

We will recall, in July, Shabunin said unknown persons set his house on fire. The expert examination confirmed that the cause of the fire was arson.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the incident “a very bad story” and said the perpetrators “must be found and punished.” And the Ukrainian office of the World Bank expressed concern about the Shabunin fire and called on the Ukrainian authorities to find and punish those responsible.
