NBU established official exchange rates for 10/19/2020

After a day of growth, the national currency began to fall again against the dollar and the euro, both at NBU rates and in the interbank market.

The National Bank of Ukraine on Monday, October 19, weakened the hryvnia by two kopecks against the dollar and 12 kopecks against the euro. This is evidenced by the data on the NBU website on Friday, October 16.

The National Bank has established the official exchange rates at the following level:

– 100 USD – 2,836.49 UAH (+0.0284 UAH)

– 100 euros – 3,330.18 hryvnia (+0.1254 UAH).

In the interbank foreign exchange market, the exchange rate of the dollar for sale increased by 2 kopecks to 28.365 hryvnia per dollar, the exchange rate for purchase up to 28.35 hryvnia per dollar. The exchange rate of the euro for sale increased by 11 kopecks to 33.26 hryvnia per euro.

As a reminder, the IMF calculated the real exchange rate for the hryvnia and concluded that the exchange rate for the hryvnia is four times the nominal rate in purchasing power parity terms.

Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada and the Cabinet of Ministers said that there is no reason for the hryvnia to fall before the end of the year and that no serious fluctuations are expected in the currency market.
