NBU established exchange rates for 12/23/2020

The NBU reduced the national currency by 38 kopecks against the euro and 21 against the dollar. In the interbank market, the hryvnia is also rapidly losing ground.

The National Bank of Ukraine reduced the hryvnia rate by 21 kopecks against the dollar on Wednesday, December 23, and immediately by 38 kopecks against the euro. This is evidenced by the data on the NBU website on Tuesday, December 22.

Thus, the official hryvnia exchange rate has declined for the fourth day in a row after it rose to its highest level since early September.

The National Bank has established the official exchange rates at the following level:

– 100 US dollars – 2825.13 hryvnia (+0.2122 UAH).

– 100 euros – 3,456.69 hryvnia (+0.3858 UAH).

On the interbank foreign exchange market, the exchange rate of the dollar for sale increased by 20 kopecks to 28.43 hryvnias per dollar, the exchange rate for purchase up to 28.40 hryvnias per dollar. The exchange rate of the euro for sale increased by 23 kopecks to 34.69 hryvnia per euro.

It was previously reported that the NBU dramatically increased the purchase of foreign currency in the interbank market. The central bank took advantage of the falling dollar and bought the US currency for $ 300 million.

The day before, the NBU announced that payments to private entrepreneurs could affect the hryvnia exchange rate.
