Exchange rates: the hryvnia began to lose ground

NBU established exchange rates for 11/12/2020

After a week of continuous growth, the National Bank slightly weakened the hryvnia against the dollar and the euro.

The National Bank of Ukraine on Friday, December 11, weakened the exchange rate of the hryvnia by 3 kopecks against the dollar and the euro. This is evidenced by the data on the NBU website on Thursday, December 10.

The National Bank has established the official exchange rates at the following level:

– 100 US dollars – 2807.50 hryvnia (+0.0344 UAH).

– 100 euros – 3,399.46 hryvnia (-0.0388 UAH).

In the interbank foreign exchange market, the exchange rate of the dollar for sale decreased by 5 kopecks to 28.05 hryvnias per dollar, the exchange rate for purchase to 28.03 hryvnias per dollar. The exchange rate of the euro for sale increased by 8 kopecks to 34.08 hryvnia per euro.

We will recall, today the NBU reported that the quarantine restrictions strengthened in January could cost Ukraine 0.2% of GDP.

And according to the Ministry of Economy, at the end of October, the decline of the Ukrainian economy slowed to 5.2% from 5.5% the previous month.
