Workers’ wages in Europe will be equated with local wages.
The Council of the European Union recommended that employers pay seasonal workers no less than the standards adopted in a particular country.
The Council of the EU has decided to improve living and working conditions in the EU for seasonal workers from third countries. Deutsche Welle reports this with reference to the document adopted on Monday, October 12.
In particular, the document contains a list of recommendations for EU countries on amendments to their labor legislation. Nation states are advised to pay seasonal workers not below the standards of the country where they work, the document says.
In addition, member countries should provide seasonal workers with information on their rights and responsibilities in their native or understandable working language.
The Council also proposes to begin developing a uniform set of rules for employment agencies for seasonal work. These rules will also apply to agencies outside the EU if they are hiring to work in the EU.
Finally, the Council proposes that agencies be required to inform potential workers in a language they understand about the length of employment, calculating wages, and whether it calculates costs of living, working conditions, and care payments medical.
Let us remind you that migrant workers from Ukraine are returning to Poland. The flow of Ukrainians to Poland is the most stable due to convenient logistics and a relatively stable economic situation in Poland.
It was also reported that migrant workers started sending less money to Ukraine. Overall, in January-July, private money transfers to Ukraine decreased 5.3% to $ 6.29 billion.
