New entry rules to Poland for Ukrainians: what you need to know

Poland has updated the entry rules for Ukrainians on its territory. The new regulations will come into effect on Monday, December 28.

This was reported by the Embassy of Ukraine in Poland.

Family, relatives and persons eligible for residency

From December 28 to the territory of Poland you can enter:

  • members of a married couple or children of Polish citizens, as well as those under the care of a Pole;
  • People with a Polish card, the right to permanent or temporary residence in Poland;

  • persons with a national visa and who enter for the purpose of repatriation (return to their historical homeland) or members of the family of a returnee;

  • They are relatives of citizens of the European Union or countries of the European Economic Area, in addition to Switzerland.

Work and Education

  • persons entitled to regular or seasonal work in Poland for the same reasons as Polish citizens and who present proof of work when crossing the border;

  • students and pupils of Polish educational institutions, participants in doctoral studies (preparation for obtaining higher scientific qualifications) and persons accompanying students;

  • scientists conducting research in Poland;

  • transport drivers for the international transport of passengers, cargo or combined that enter for commercial purposes;

  • Seafarers, fishermen, workers on offshore drilling and production platforms, who enter the workplace in transit;
  • employees of diplomatic and consular institutions, representatives of international organizations and members of their families;
  • people who cross the border with diplomatic passports.

Other categories

  • aircraft passengers flying from countries without air traffic prohibition, belong to one of the specified categories or have a residence permit in Georgia, Japan, Canada, New Zealand, Thailand, South Korea, Tunisia, Australia;

  • participants in sports competitions with documents from the competition organizer, confirming their participation;

  • to arrive for humanitarian reasons in the interest of Poland or in connection with its international obligations;

  • Visa availability to participate in the “Poland. Commercial port” program;

  • foreign entrepreneurs and representatives of foreign companies entering for commercial purposes and having received permission from the Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs.

It was previously reported that a strict nationwide quarantine will be introduced in Poland. It will run from December 28 to January 17.

Poland also stopped flights to the UK in connection with a new strain of coronavirus discovered there.
