Election in the US: Polls give victory to Biden

The US elections are already in full swing

Trump remains close to Biden in enough states to give him the 270 electoral votes needed to be re-elected for a second term.

Democrat Joe Biden is ahead of President Donald Trump in two days of voting in the US elections, but the Republican candidate is still hoping for a victory thanks to high odds in fluctuating states, Reuters reported.

Biden’s national advantage over Trump has been relatively stable in recent months. In the most recent Reuters / Ipsos poll, conducted October 27-29, it scores 51% versus 43%.

But Trump is still close enough to Biden in enough states to give him the 270 electoral votes needed to be re-elected for a second term. Reuters / Ipsos polls show that the race remains high in Florida, North Carolina and Arizona.

Trump is also five points behind in Pennsylvania and nine points in Michigan and Wisconsin, three other states that helped him win the 2016 Electoral College victory over Democrat Hillary Clinton, who won the popular vote.

But even without Michigan and Wisconsin, Trump could win again if he owns every other state he won in 2016.
