The Ukrainian National Police said it opened a criminal case for the fall of several power line poles on the Shuliavsky Bridge in Kiev. The incident was reported at 2:40 p.m.

Law enforcement officials said they received a message about the drop in supports at 2:40 p.m. Patrolmen, investigators and representatives of other services left for the place, they said.
“As a result of the accident, eight vehicles were damaged and automobile traffic on the overpass was limited. Law enforcement officers are working at the site and are carrying out first priority investigative actions,” the statement said.
The case was qualified under Part 2 of Art. 275 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the rules related to the safe operation of buildings and structures, which had serious consequences).
On December 15, at the Shuliavsky Bridge, the supports of the power lines fell, as a result of which the traffic in the direction of the Dorogozhichi metro station was limited.
Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that the main responsibility for the fall of the supports on the Shuliavsky Bridge in the capital lies with the general contractor, who is responsible for the quality of work, and the perpetrators should be held criminally liable.
