On Tuesday, September 8, the Tagansky court found Russian actor Mikhail Efremov guilty of committing a fatal traffic accident in Moscow.

«He was convicted of committing a crime under paragraph a of part 4 of article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. (violation of traffic rules, resulting in the death of a person by negligence, committed by a person in a state of drunkenness) ”, says the court’s verdict.
At the same time, Judge Elena Abramova insists that Efremov did not admit his guilt during the trial, but only referred to the fact that he did not remember anything.
We will recall, on June 8, that Efremov, in a drunken state, drove into the opposite lane on Smolenskaya Square in central Moscow and made a head-on collision with a VAZ car.
Sergei Zakharov, 57, who was driving him, died in hospital as a result of his injuries.
Efremov’s lawyers tried to prove that he was not driving his car at the time of the accident, but in the end, the actor still pleaded guilty, albeit with the wording «If it were me. “
The Prosecutor’s Office asked him for 11 years in a general regime colony for him.
At the same time, Efremov’s defense hopes to give him 6-8 years.
