In Russia, a single voting day (EDG) is set for September 13. In 2020, voting in multi-level elections takes place over three days.
This was reported by the CEC of the Russian Federation.
On September 11 and 12, early voting was held, but the Russians were able to choose in polling stations, such as in the EDG, as well as in neighboring territories, as well as during the voting on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
In 2020, more than 9 thousand elections of different levels are held at the EDG. The registration was rejected by 8 thousand (4.8%) candidates: out of 171 thousand nominees, 160 thousand (93%) were registered, the rest dropped out of the race.
On the first day of voting, the Golos movement received around 600 reports of violations.
Earlier, the Foreign Ministry said that Russia had decided to organize a vote on the “governor’s election” in occupied Crimea. The Ukrainian side condemns such actions and does not recognize the “elections”.
