Scientists from Ecuador have reported a case of reinfection by coronavirus. Previously, the United States, China, and South Korea reported a repeat case of COVID-19 infection.

Thus, the Institute of Microbiology of the University of Quito (IMUSFQ) reported the first case of reinfection by coronavirus in a patient who was already sick with COVID-19 and recovered.
The patient was confirmed to have two different strains of coronavirus. In May, the illness was mild and in August she presented mild symptoms. At the same time, in July, the result of the coronavirus test was negative.
Likewise, researchers in Ecuador pointed out that during the second infection, the patient showed an increase in the level of immunoglobulin (IgG) in response to the virus, which means that there were already antibodies in his body.
We will recall, previously in South Korea, more than 140 recovered coronaviruses were reinfected.
Additionally, RBC-Ukraine wrote that the World Health Organization predicts an increase in coronavirus mortality for the winter.
