The Dynamo hosted Brugge at home in the 1/16 final of the Europa League and drew 1: 1. The missed goal had a negative effect on the team’s chances of success. It is even more offensive because the Kievists lost it by their own mistake.
However, it is clear that Mircea Lucescu’s charges were superior to his opponents in the game and therefore the fight for a ticket to the next round will be very difficult, but it may well be crowned with success.
Football.ua evaluates the play of Dynamo Kiev players in the match at Olympic NSC (on a 10-point scale).
Georgy Buschan – 4.5
Georgy Buschan was virtually out of work in the first half of the game. A similar image was in the second half. Needless to say, if the Belgian team has only one shot on goal in this match. It is true that it ended with a goal. At that point, Buschan played very poorly at the start, lost the goal and was unable to do anything with a header from Mechele. The goalkeeper disappointed him at an important moment and not in vain did he hear Lucescu from behind, heading to the grandstand room after the game.
Tomasz Kendera – 7.0
Tomasz Kendzera in this match entered the field as a right back, and not in the center, as he was in the Ukrainian championship match against Olimpik. The Pole played excellently in defense for all the minutes allotted to him on the field. As for the attack, it seemed that he could not compete with Mikolenko in this regard, but Kendzera became the author of two very sharp programs on Buyalsky. The defender was highly praised.
Ilya Zabarny – 6.0 and Denis Popov – 6.5
The Dynamo center-back duo in this match were Zabarny and Popov. The young footballers showed confidence from the first minutes, acting very calmly in difficult situations. Popov was a real wall, he did not let his opponents pass, and Zabarny did not miss due to the pressure of the opponents and he chose the position correctly.
Denis’s score is only half a point higher. Popov had more key martial arts, which ended in success. You can be satisfied with the game of the central defenders of Kiev.
Vitaly Mikolenko – 7.0
One of the best Dynamo players of the match. Mikolenko from the first minutes made it clear to the Brujas flank players that today they will sleep soundly. Vitaly acted with great tenacity and competence on defense and constantly rushed forward, unafraid to take the initiative.
Also, Mikolenko scored an assist for Buyalsky. However, one of the disadvantages is a silly yellow card at the end of the match. Vitaly is already an experienced footballer to avoid such oversights.
Sergei Sidorchuk – 6.5
Sergei Sidorchuk played in the best traditions of a holding midfielder: he was practically invisible on the pitch. However, there are negatives in this regard. This is not to say that the Dynamo’s central area was impassable. Also, Sergey’s important interceptions are not remembered, but he still coped with his work and got a good grade.
Nikolai Shaparenko – 5.5
Shaparenko became one of the main disappointments of the party. In the first part of the season Nikolay taught us that it is he who leads the team’s actions from the depths, but it was not like that in this match. Shaparenko made too many mistakes in simple situations and did not remember anything interesting in attack.
Victor Tsygankov 6.5
Of course, you expect a lot from Tsygankov in such games. Viktor did not shine on the pitch today and clearly did not show all that he was capable of, yet the calm and precision of his actions greatly added confidence to the people of Kiev. Tsygankov often moved to the center to free Kendzere’s flank, but could not create a dangerous moment from that area. It is difficult to remember any mistakes in the performance of the Kiev captain, but we expect more from him already in the Belgian game.
Vitaly Buyalsky – 8.0
In our opinion, the best footballer on the field with both teams. The midfielder did not start the game in the best way, making several inaccurate passes, but then he recovered and became the main threat to the rival goal. As Artem Besedin battled with the defenders, Buyalsky searched very competently for free space and hit his head twice from someone else’s penalty area, but the ball went over the gate.
Buyalsky’s benefit was a moment in the second half of the game, when Vitaly hit the ball outside of someone else’s penalty area and hit the top corner of the goal with a magnificent strike. Buyalsky managed to play the team and threaten the opponent’s goal. Excellent game from the midfielder.
Carlos De Pena – 6.0
Carlos De Pena did not play the most outstanding match. The Uruguayan felt comfortable in the control of the ball, there was a minimum of marriage on his part, but the really acute episodes with his participation are not remembered. De Pena played hard, but was not remembered for anything extraordinary, so his score was 6.0.
Artem Besedin – 5.0
Artem Besedin came back very well after being disqualified and scored a double in Ukraine’s championship match against Olimpik, but the Ukrainian forward played poorly in the Europa League match. Of course, we noticed Besedin’s ability to fight for the ball – he managed. Not to say it was ideal, but satisfying, but it wasn’t possible to bring a threat to other people’s doorsteps.
Also, Besedin played unsuccessfully when the Kyivans missed a goal. The forward didn’t even try to force a fight on Mechele, who scored against the Dynamo.
Rodriguez, Shepelev, Supryaga and Karavaev did not spend enough minutes on the field to evaluate.
