The Swedish pole vault Armand Duplantis has broken the all-time record of the Ukrainian Serhiy Bubka in open sand.
On the Diamond League stage in Rome, Italy, the athlete jumped 6.15 meters, which is one centimeter higher than the achievement of the legendary Ukrainian.
Thus, Duplantis broke Bubka’s record. In July 1994, in a tournament at the Italian Sestriere, he was able to conquer the highest height in open arenas: 6.14 meters.
The Swedish track and field athlete also holds the indoor pole vault record of 6.18 meters.
Previously, the Ukrainian athlete Marina Bekh-Romanchuk won the long jump at the Berlin tournament.
Before that, her high jump compatriots Yulia Levchenko, Yaroslav Maguchikh and Irina Gerashchenko took the entire podium at the German Dessau tournament.
