The anesthesiologist did not perform preoperative preparation
Due to the negligence of the anesthesiologist, the patient died at the institution. Her treating physician and pathologist falsified the woman’s cause of death in the documents. The suspicion was announced to the doctors.
Three doctors from the National Cancer Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine were informed about the suspicion of improper performance of their professional duties, as a result of which the patient died, reported the press service of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine on Thursday 12 of November.
“According to the investigation, the anesthesiologist at the National Cancer Institute, before the start of the surgery, without preoperative preparation of the patient, injected into her body drugs incompatible with simultaneous administration,” the message says.
It is observed that due to this, the woman experienced a sharp deterioration in her health. And then she died.
Two other doctors from the Cancer Institute decided to hide their colleague’s guilt.
“The doctor treating the patient and the pathologist, after the results of the autopsy, entered inaccurate information on the cause of death of the woman in the medical documentation,” said the Attorney General’s Office.
The anesthesiologist was informed about the suspicion of improper performance of his professional duties, which led to serious consequences for the patient (part 1 of Article 140 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and the treating physician and pathologist, in the preparation of falsified official documents knowingly by prior conspiracy of a group of people (Part 3 of article 358 of the Penal Code).
The question of the choice of suspects is now being decided as a measure of restraint and removal from office.
