According to the website of the president of Ukraine, during the meeting of the trilateral contact group, the head of the Ukrainian delegation, Leonid Kravchuk, demanded from his Russian counterpart Boris Gryzlov that the Russian Federation stop blocking the negotiation process.
The head of the Ukrainian delegation to the trilateral contact group on the resolution of the conflict in Donbass, the first president of Ukraine, Leonid Kravchuk, asked the authorized representative of Russia, Boris Gryzlov, not to block the negotiation process in the TCG and to do not issue ultimatums to Ukraine. This was announced on September 30 by the website of the President of Ukraine.
Kravchuk urged not to create “obstacles”, but to move forward, focusing on strengthening the ceasefire, freeing the people in the power of the parties and solving other problems.
Addressing Gryzlov, Kravchuk said: “Don’t offer us ultimatums. We are not in the USSR or under the Kremlin. Ukraine is an independent state that will not allow conditions to be imposed.”
Today the TCG discussed procedural issues for approximately four hours, which did not allow immediate consideration of issues on the agenda, the message says.
August 19 Kravchuk reported that Russia delivered an ultimatum to the TCG on changing the resolution on holding local elections in Ukraine, demanding to guarantee the holding of elections in CADLO. The delegation of Ukraine said that the revision of the provisions of this document is the exclusive competence of the Verkhovna Rada, whose activities and decisions no one in the delegation can influence.
The work of the political subgroup of the trilateral contact group has been blocked since mid-September, TCG member Sergei Garmash said.
