Medical workers will start receiving higher wages later this month. 6 billion UAH was allocated to increase wages before the end of the year.
This was announced by the Minister of Health of Ukraine, Maxim Stepanov, during a conference call with President Volodymyr Zelensky, reports the Office of the President.
According to him, now the National Health Service is signing contracts with 1,600 hospitals, with a third of the institutions already signed.
“We promised the doctors financial improvements. We are responsible for this. I hope the government keeps its promises to the Ukrainians,” Zelensky said.
As a reminder, on September 7, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the mechanism of additional payments to the salaries of medical workers.
Note that in July, the government allocated funds to increase the wages of medical workers beginning on September 1.
In particular, in September-December 2020, additional payments will be made:
- doctors – 3561 hryvnia per month;
- specialists with basic and incomplete higher medical education – 2361 hryvnia;
- to junior medical staff – 1181 hryvnias.
We add that in April the salary in the field of “Health care and social assistance” was 7035 hryvnia, or 67.4% of the average for the economy.
