In Minsk (Belarus), doctors came out to protest. The security forces began to detain the protesters.
It is reported by “Nasha Niva”.
Security agents detain doctors near the first clinical hospital in Minsk. There are already about 20 detainees.
“People in white coats were taken to the cars,” the newspaper said.
At the same time, the leader of the Belarusian opposition Svetlana Tikhanovskaya addressed the doctors. He claimed that the country’s president, Alexander Lukashenko, has launched a “machine of repression” even against those who save lives.
“I know that today you will carry out an action of solidarity with the Belarusian people, and I will support all those who come together to show solidarity with you,” he said.
Let us remind you that the European Parliament passed the resolution on Belarus. In it, MEPs did not acknowledge the election results. Lukashenko responded by saying that Belarus does not need anyone’s recognition.
On November 4, the ambassadors of the European Union agreed to impose sanctions against the unrecognized president Lukashenko. Along with him, 14 Belarusian officials will be subject to the sanctions.
Previously, the EU has already introduced sanctions against Belarus and there are 40 officials on the sanctions list. Belarus has prepared the appropriate sanctions against the European Union.
