Dismissal of Sytnyk: the Cabinet of Ministers supported the law on the right of the Rada

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine supported the law on the right of the Verkhovna Rada to remove the head of the National Anti-Corruption Office of Ukraine. The amendments to the law on NABU are conditioned by the decision of the Constitutional Court.

This was stated by Prime Minister Denis Shmygal during an extraordinary meeting of the government.

In addition, the current head of NABU will exercise powers until the appointment of the next head of department.

We will recall, in August, that the Constitutional Court of Ukraine declared the appointment of Artem Sytnyk as director of the National Anti-Corruption Office of Ukraine unconstitutional, that is, the corresponding presidential decree.

In October, the District Administrative Court decided to remove Sytnik and gave him one month to enforce this decision.

So, in the Kiev District Administrative Court, Sytnik was given a month to leave the post of head of NABU.

Furthermore, RBC-Ukraine reported that the Ministry of Justice will not comply with the OASK’s decision, as it stated that there was no authority or legal basis for these changes. The department was recommended to modify the Unified Registry of Legal Persons of the State based on the aforementioned decision of the CCU.
