The Constitutional Court of Ukraine, by its decision to declare unconstitutional the article of the Criminal Code on the punishment for lying in statements, violated the Constitution of Ukraine. Furthermore, the KSU has placed Ukrainian society in an uncomfortable position.

So on the air of the channel “Ukraine 24”, said the head of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG Leonid Kravchuk.

Responding to the question of whether he believes that the Constitutional Court violated the Constitution, Kravchuk replied: “Of course.”

“The Constitutional Court can violate, and everyone else must observe how it violates. The actions of the Constitutional Court put Ukrainian society in a situation that requires immediate, concrete and actionable measures,” he said.

Kravchuk also explained that President Volodymyr Zelensky presented a bill that proposed to remove the entire composition of the Constitutional Court, because the situation demanded it.

“The president was putting out the fire. When the NSDC met, the fire was burning, the anti-Ukrainian situation expanded in this case after that decision was made (KSU – ed.), And very quick and radical steps were needed . Of course, the president started from the fact that such steps were necessary. Do it. He proposed such a document, “he said.

According to Kravchuk, the document proposed by Zelensky is a bill, not a decree.

“Now it is up to BP how it will react to this, how it will assess the situation in Ukraine as a whole. And how it will adopt such laws, decisions that will restore the authority of such an important structure as the KSU and extinguish this flame burning around the KSU.” . a document for discussion in the Verkhovna Rada, this does not at all mean that the president has said that this is the only possible option, ”he said.

Let us remember that on October 27 the Constitutional Court canceled art. 366-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine on criminal liability for entering inaccurate data in a statement, and also recognized as unconstitutional the powers of the NAPK to control and verify statements, 24-hour access to the record of statements and monitoring of the style of life.

The NAPK said the judges made the decision in their own interest.

In turn, the Constitutional Court announced “constant pressure” from anti-corruption bodies.

Following the Constitutional Court’s decision to testify, Zelensky submitted to the Rada a bill on the termination of the powers of all constitutional judges.

The bill, presented by the president as urgent, will be considered by the Servant of the People faction on November 2. The KSU said that this document has signs of a hit.
