In the golden age of the Ukrainian championship, one of the most interesting coaching matches was the duel between Mircea Lucescu and Miron Markevich. Today they met again, but Markevich is not the same and Lucescu is no longer there. The son of the eminent Ukrainian mentor, Ostap Mironovich, is training Mariupol this season, while Mircea Mikhailovich decided to lead the Dynamo. So far it has been successful, because before the start of the round, the Kiev fans were three points ahead of Shakhtar.
The starting lineups surprised many. Markevich lost two leaders: Tankovsky and Bondarenko were not included in the request. Interestingly, they played a match against Veres last week, where they were likely injured. It turns out that 1/8 of the cup is more important to the “priazovtsy” than the championship.
Lucescu’s rotation was planned even in the announcement of the fight, but even we could not assume that the place of the first song would be in charge of Nescheret and not Buschan. Still, a seasoned Romanian stuntman is not a big fan of changing the head goalkeeper. Today, 18-year-old Ruslan got his chance, but managed to play less than half. All the blame is not an injury, not even a coronavirus, but a red card. But above all in turn.
“Dynamo” serenely controlled the course of the first half, while “Mariupol” did not hit almost anything. In one of their first attacks, Kyiv residents were able to open an account, and even then it began to appear that the question about the winner had been removed. Tsygankov found Garmash in the penalty area with a pass, which he dealt with Kudrik, after which he sent the ball empty. Interestingly, Denis managed to score for the second time in the last three games. I finished so that it cannot be stopped.
Also, there was a controversial episode when Daniil Sikan played hard against Kendzera. The main referee decided not to see the replay, showing the striker of “priazovtsy” yellow. But fans will have time to remember both the red Sidorchuk and Zabarny’s recent dismissal. Today GAR did not help the capital.
“White-blue”, in his corporate style, did not strive to actively play up front, but created his own opportunities. Several times he dangerously hit De Pen, stopped Kudrik Tsygankov’s reaction, Supryaga came forward without any special purpose, for which he repeatedly heard criticism from Lucescu. Nothing foreshadowed trouble for the guests, but it did happen. The long-distance transmission of Chobotenko (the main creative weapon of the “Priazovtsy”) found Sikan, who became famous with Ocheretko. The promising winger was perfect for Gorbunov, who raced towards Nescheret. The young goalkeeper ran to meet him outside the penalty area, after which he committed a foul. The referee quickly resolved the situation, showing the goalkeeper a red card. Buschan went out to the emergency field and Garmash was forced to go to the bank. Denis today, as in the famous slogan: “I came, I saw, I won.” Although, rather: “Out, written down, gone.”
For a second, it seemed that Azov’s team, having gained a one-player advantage, would finally play more aggressively, trying to even the score, snatch the victory and earn the gratitude of Shakhtar Donetsk. But throughout the second half there was the feeling that it was the Dynamo that played in the majority, that they continued to take the initiative. Kiev’s second accurate hit calmed the game completely, because it was clear that today’s “Mariupol” is incapable of opposing anything with the score 0: 2. You won’t be filled with a random goal here. De Pena, having played a very decent match, scored an assist by helping Tsygankov. The Kievites vice-captain caught up with Shahab in the scoring race, at the same time eliminating the last questions about the winner.
“Mariupol” was able to recover in injury time when Topalov closed a Kulakov cross. Note that a few minutes earlier they might have received a penalty for possible Popov hand play. Unfortunately, today we expected more from “priazovtsy”, because this season they have already shown that they can play efficiently. And the Dynamo take the next three points and regain the lead, previously held by Shakhtar. For the winter championship, Lucescu’s team cannot lose to Kolos, but Ferencvaros is ahead, Rebrov ahead, Champions League ahead.
