Dikiy: UPL refused to postpone Vorskla match

Executive Director UPL Evgeniy Dikiy spoke about the postponement of the Vorskla – Shakhtar match to Kiev.

– “Vorskla” could not play his match in Poltava due to the city being in the red quarantine zone. A kind of force majeure arose, in connection with which it was originally proposed to hold the match in Alexandria.

But given that during this period the Premier League matches are played in that region, there is a problem with the number of places required in the hotels, with the accommodation of the teams. In this sense, the clubs agreed, met, found a compromise option: change the first and second round matches.

– Did Shakhtar initiate the transfer of the match to Kiev?

– Let’s say the clubs have reached a compromise.

– Does Vorskla have any complaints about this decision?

– For our part, we thank the clubs that assumed each other’s position and treated this situation with understanding.

– What was the position of the UPL on the postponement of the match?

– This situation with decisions on quarantine zones will be known a week before the next round. Every time an extraordinary situation arises. Therefore, we are trying to quickly solve all these problems, while the participants of the competition feel comfortable.

We can talk about a violation of some deadlines, but depending on the time frame, when certain circumstances are known, they no longer allow systematically planning the route.

Once again I thank all the clubs for understanding the whole situation and finding compromises so that everyone is satisfied with this or that solution.
