According to the American actor Johnny Depp, he respected the request of representatives of Warner Bros to refuse to participate in the filming of Fantastic Beasts.

American actor Johnny Depp posted on his Instagram page on November 6 a photo of a letter saying that he had to stop filming in the movie “Fantastic Beasts”, which the Warner Bros company is shooting based on the novel by the British writer JK Rowling.

“I want to inform you that Warner Bros. asked me to resign the role of Grindelwald. I respectfully accepted their request,” the letter says.

In February 2015, Depp married actress Amber Heard and, in May 2016, he filed for divorce, claiming that the reason for the dissolution of the marriage was domestic violence by her husband. After the divorce, which took place in January 2017, the court barred Depp from approaching the ex-wife and ordered him to pay a $ 7 million settlement.

In 2018, the actress published an article in the Washington Post in which she indirectly accused the ex-spouse of domestic tyranny. The Sun, referring to the publication, in its article called the actor a domestic rapist.

This forced Depp to go to Superior Court with a lawsuit, in which Hurd and The Sun were identified as defendants.

On October 2, 2020, The Sun tabloid reported that the London High Court, after hearing testimony from numerous witnesses, decided that the facts published by the tabloid in April 2018 about Depp’s beating of his ex-wife, actress Amber Heard, are true.

Likewise, the court refused the actor to receive compensation for the moral damage caused by the publication of the article.

The court ordered Depp to pay “millions of pounds” in legal costs, according to The Sun.

On October 3, it was learned that the actor’s lawyers intend to appeal the judicial decision, calling it “perversion.”
