Now Ukrainians are guaranteed the return of deposits in the amount of up to 200 thousand UAH
An increase in the volume of guarantees on bank deposits of individuals will be possible after restructuring the debt of the Deposit Guarantee Fund for Individuals.
Guaranteed payments to depositors of Ukrainian banks will triple, up to 600,000 UAH per depositor. The National Bank announced it on Monday, September 7.
According to him, the corresponding decision was made at a meeting of the Financial Stability Board, which took place on September 2, chaired by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The increase in the volume of guarantees on bank deposits of individuals will be possible after restructuring the indebtedness of the Deposit Guarantee Fund of Individuals to the Cabinet of Ministers and the National Bank.
Furthermore, one of the conditions is the accession of the state Oschadbank to the FGVFL, which will require the Verkhovna Rada to amend the current legislation.
We will recall, earlier, that the Individual Deposit Guarantee Fund asked all depositors from insolvent banks who have not yet received their deposits within the guaranteed amount to withdraw their money for a total of about 3 billion UAH.
