OSCE: Parties increasingly declare their readiness for a military solution to the Donbass conflict
To achieve total “silence” in Donbass, great political will is needed from the parties to the conflict, believes the OSCE Special Representative in Ukraine.
Recently, there have been more frequent messages containing mutual accusations about the parties’ readiness for a military solution to the conflict in Donbass. All of this negatively affects the activities of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG). This was announced on Wednesday, March 17, by the OSCE Special Representative in Ukraine Heidi Grau after an online meeting of the TCG.
He added that since November 2020, there has been a gradual increase in the number of violations of the regime of silence, which negatively affects the population in the conflict zone.
“All parties to the conflict must refrain from actions and statements that may be perceived as provocative or that lead to increased tensions,” said Grau.
The diplomat also said that the commitment to the ceasefire in the conflict zone and additional measures to strengthen it in general are maintained.
Recall that during a meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group on Donbass, at the initiative of the deputy head of the delegation, Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Reznikov, Ukraine proposed to carry out “humanitarian demining” in the occupied territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions for Semana Santa (May 2).
We add that a Donbass travel tourism project is being prepared in the Donbass. Their goal is to show the iconic locations of the free part of Donbass to the residents of ORDLO.
