The death of 93-year-old Irina Skobtseva has just been known. Irina Konstantinovna was the wife of the legendary Soviet director Sergei Bondarchuk and the mother of Fedor and Alena Bondarchuk. The sad news appeared on the microblog of the film company Art Pictures, directed by Fyodor Bondarchuk.

Skobtseva has appeared in more than 60 films, including “Seryozha”, “Zigzag of Fortune”, “Earthly Love” and many others. People’s artist of the RSFSR played the role of Helen Bezukhova in the film “War and Peace”, as well as the role of Desdemona in Sergei Yutkevich’s film “Othello”. The film received an award at the Cannes Film Festival, and Irina Skobtseva herself was the first of the actresses to be named Miss Charm of the festival.
